RengXiang AKS internal looks & Jam problem by Bumo kWolfSwan

AKM/S made by RengXiang RX is a hot toy, first month we launched it at our website (kwolfswan.com) the sales number surprised everybody, and many funs would like to dissemble it but they are afraid to break the AK, today I have a chance one of my AK is failed to shoot due to gears are not match anymore, so I take below diagram for reference to try to look close at its internal.

The gearbox design is not complicated, AKM’s gearbox has few more screws, mounted by the same way Lehui SLR does, so I took below steps to take it apart.

1. Push down the clip at end of upper cover to take it away;
2. Take away springs of change handle, be noticed its 2 springs, and keep them well.
3. Take out the handle diagonally upward.

4. Unscrew marked points to take out cover.

5. Unscrew the points on charge handle’s linkage and remove the linkage and spring.

6. Unscrew the handguard plates.

7. Unscrew the gearbox and unplug the cable.

8. Unscrew the button of gearbox, and unscrew the pistol grip, take out the motor base, pull the level switcher to safe, pull out the gearbox by upward.

Be noticed that:

• Gearbox only could be released by switch to safe level;
• There is no bolt to lock the gearbox inside the frame;
• Usually you can replace to other stock by step here.

9. Push the tailcap latch, remove the latch and spring, take off 4 screws on weight block to take apart the weight block.

• Note the location of small parts inside the weight block.

10. take off the circuit cover, unscrew all screws from gearbox, now you see gearbox’s internal.

• Gearbox’s end top is not quick disassembly design, insert something to the hole at the end of gearbox to avoid parts explored away.
• Remember the direction of the weight block buffer when you take it away, because wrong direction installation may cause failure restore.

Till the step, I found out the gears are matched, everything is working. It doesn’t fire because the 2/3 parts of internal tuber is jammed by gel balls, unbelievable.

After more digging, I found some jammed gel ball are supper dry on surface which resistance made them stay together tightly, so once you found out the AK is not firing, first thing you should do is stab and break jammed gel balls by a long stick.

So here I made some lubrication on gas seal. And replaced the push nozzle to a yellow POM, replaced the connector to XT30U, and other made other modification on O rings.

To make it a 75-78m/s@16Hz gel blaster powered by 11.1 V battery.

In addition, there are several points to be noted in the assembly back.

1. make sure the blaster is in safe status when you assembling back the magazine and gearbox;
2. follow the picture below, the rod of charge handle should follow correct direction.
3. Should install the magazine when you install the charge handle, use a tool to switch on the gearbox.
4. When arrange the cable of motor seat, I suggest to loosen the screws first, then lay the cables, for avoiding the broken of cables.
